01Do I even need commercial health insurance?

Most foreigners who cannot yet join the Slovak public health system need commercial health insurance for their residence permit, work or study. Get in touch and we will gladly check your specific situation.

02Is it accepted by the Foreign Police for my residence permit?

klido arranges commercial health insurance for foreigners that is accepted by the Slovak Foreign Police (cudzinecká polícia) for residence-permit applications. The permit decision itself always rests with the police.

03How much does it cost?

Simple starts from €0.90/day (emergency care and accidents) and Safety from €1.56/day (adds prevention and chronic conditions). Simple's price is shown online instantly, while Safety's final price is set after a short health questionnaire.

04What's the difference between Simple and Safety?

Simple covers urgent and acute care plus accidents and needs no health questionnaire (unless you are 65+). Safety adds prevention, rehabilitation and chronic conditions and requires a short health questionnaire.

05How long does it take?

The whole process is online and takes about 5 minutes for Simple, including the digital signature — no office visit and no paperwork.

06Who is the insurer, and is klido legitimate?

Policies are underwritten by Union poisťovňa, a licensed Slovak insurer. klido is operated by quadur s.r.o., a registered NBS insurance intermediary (#293002), verifiable on regfap.nbs.sk.

07Can I cancel and get a refund?

Yes — as a distance contract you have a 14-day right of withdrawal; just write to info@klido.sk.
